welcome to west nottingham academy!
west nottingham academy, a small college-preparatory boarding and day school for grades 9-12, is located between baltimore and philadelphia. originally founded in 1744, wna is the oldest boarding school in the country. with so many options, why is west nottingham the right choice for you? well, if you’re not in the market for a big school, you're in luck. if you enjoy and are interested in a community environment, then this is a place you need to look into. if you’re ready to be part of a unique and challenging school that will prepare you for college as well as the rest of your life, then you should definitely keep reading. at west nottingham we love helping students who enjoy learning, being challenged and sharing their educational journey with others. you certainly don’t need to be a genius by any means, but you do have to be curious, passionate and being opinionated never hurts. basically, we want students who take their education seriously and take it personally. as already mentioned, wna is the oldest boarding school in the country. this means that we are very familiar with returning generations of families that want to provide their children with the best education possible. to help keep with the small community feel we make sure that we treat those families with the utmost respect and hospitality, which is why the majority of our alumni were personally invited by the school. however, this does not mean that we don't accept new students who do not have family that have attended wna in the past. if a new student is interested in joining the west nottingham family we do offer a handful of scholarships to those children that meet our standards. this means you need to excel in your academics, be an active member of your community, and be able to provide us with an essay explaining why you feel you would be a good fit for the school. rules / taken

our four dormitories that we provide (east, west, rush house, and rowland) offer students the perfect opportunity to prepare for college life - living with a roommate, sharing in community decisions, managing day-to-day challenges, and getting to know students from throughout the region along with students from around the world. each dorm is fully equipped with all the up-to-date comforts including flat-screen televisions, a lounge, washer/dryer, kitchen and wireless internet. however it's the real life connections you'll make with the other students and dorm parents that makes boarding school life so rewarding and such a great option to be considered. students play the major role in cultivating the dorm culture under the supervision of four dorm parents in each building (one lead parent and three dorm parents) and are encouraged to participate in various dorm activities on weekends and throughout the year to help students get comfortable with each other and have some fun. there are also student leaders called prefects to help new students and assist the dorm parents in maintaining a safe and healthy dorm environment. east rowland rush west
